It is believed that Maharishi Pata˝jali was the avatar of Adi Shesha - the Infinite Cosmic Serpent upon whom Lord Vishnu rests. He is considered to be the compiler of the Yoga Sutras, along with being the author of a commentary on Panini's Ashtadhyayi, known as Mahabhasya and the writer of a work on the ancient Indian medicine system, Ayurveda.

He could apparently communicate fully from the moment he was born. Not only that, but both the topics of his conversations and the intellect and vigor with which he discussed them were of the kind more usually associated with sages, rishis and seers. Pata˝jali not only acutely and accurately analyzed and discussed things of the present, but revealed matters of both the ancient past and the immediate and distant futures with accuracy and incisive penetration.

There is so much controversy about his life and works, that one can only speculate - but his impact on the Masters throughout time is undeniable. Pata˝jali is an icon who lives on in our consciousness and hearts. To read more about Pata˝jali, Click Here
